Bearing lines
Start the line at the correct origin—often a spotter marker—and rotate it until the displayed bearing matches the report. Extend the line far enough to intersect a second measurement.
Range circles
When a report gives distance, use the compass from the report's origin and draw a circle at that range. Intersections with another bearing or range measurement produce candidate target locations.
